Netflix’s Spider-Man

All of the above shows progress in the TV and Film industry. Not just lead roles cast to a person of colour but the majority of the cast. Having seen 4 of the 5 above myself, which were excellent, even if somewhat painfully embarrassing to watch (small axe) as a white person born in the 80’s.

It’s so important for everyone to see themselves represented in lead, heroic roles.

Healthier and fairer representation is needed in lots of sectors even though I acknowledge equality of opportunity doesn’t mean equality of outcome when regarding gender. Their may be some sectors that are more suitable to particular character traits and therefore possibly, even probably, genders but this isn’t the same for ethnicity.
