My favourite albums
I’m a firm believer that if you want to know about someone’s beliefs, don’t ask them, look at what they read.
Similarly, what does the music we love reveal about us? Links to past experience, insights to some of the reasons why we are who we are.
Well, aged 12, I went on what I think was my first school trip abroad. A week in Germany on the river Rhine. It was a trip full of all the usual school trip abroad shenanigans, including one of the lads needing to have his appendix removed after an emergency trip to the hospital.
The sound track of this particular trip, for me, was Alanis Morisette, Jagged Little Pill. On the journey home I listened to this album on repeat, particularly the hit track ‘Ironic’. It will forever be a timeless album.
Music plays an important role in my life and perhaps all our lives. It has the power to change my mood, influence the speed at which we drive (shushhh), spark emotions, mark occasions and much more.
For the next few blogs I’ll share some albums that have marked particular seasons in my life.
What are some albums and singles that remain with you?
