Love where we live

Freezing!

For many years I’ve believed it’s important to live from a place of rest. The world in which we live never stops and certainly never sleeps. Our culture lauds extra time, over time and working hours to extreme lengths. It’s almost inanely British to want others to join in the mutual suffering of the daily crack and grind. We’re not good at celebrating the success of a balanced life or the freedom that others choose to live by. So, in many regards, living from a place of rest is counter cultural and there are so many people sleep walking there way through the beauty of each day. I fall pray to this myself, no judgement here.

Samson met a snowman

We didn’t build it

Ive had annual leave planned and rescheduled twice during the pandemic for all valid reasons and mainly because we’re committed to what we, Cerian and I, believe we are called to. However, it is every leaders responsibility to manage our own boundaries, to remember the importance of leading by example but mainly to rest because rest is central to a healthy life, sustainable relationships and longevity of service. I say all of this as I blurb my way through a little blog to say that today, we went for a lovely winter walk. It was wet, cold, and windy which made for a fabulous time with my wife.
