A personal ceremony that reflects a life, its relationships and the people remembering it.
I work with families and funeral directors to help plan a ceremony that feels appropriate to the person who has died. Enquiries are welcome directly from families as well as from funeral directors.
We can discuss religious, non-religious or mixed personal and religious elements, including the words, music, readings and traditions that matter to you.
Traditional
A traditional service tends to be called 'Religious' or 'Traditional.
These services tend to have elements of 'faith' or 'religion'. There are many traditions within the Christian faith such as Church of England, Baptist, Methodist, Free Church and Pentecostal. They essentially all believe and agree on the key beliefs of Christianity with a slightly different emphasis and practice.

Non-Traditional
Many people request a 'non-traditional' 'humanist' 'non-religious' or even 'atheist' funeral service. All these terms apply to a spectrum of beliefs and expectations.
A 'non-traditional' service is more focussed on the life of the deceased including elements in the service that represents their life. These services tend to have no religious content.
Jim's focus is family first ensuring an authentic, honouring and dignified service for your loved one.

Integrated
An integrated service tends to be a mixture of the previous two services put together.
These services tend to have some religious elements but also with a focus on the life of the loved one no longer with us.

Areas covered and fees
I cover Somerset, including Wells, Mendip, Weston-super-Mare and Yeovil, as well as Bristol and Bath.
Please enquire for an individual quote. Travel within a 20-mile radius of Wells is included in my fee. Any additional travel charge is quoted individually and agreed before booking.
My officiating fee is paid by the funeral director, within 30 days of my invoice.

If known, include the proposed date, location and funeral director’s details. You do not need to send a full life story in your first message. Availability and the service arrangements will be confirmed before booking.
